Former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos says he’s accepted a fight with Santiago Ponzinibbio via a scathing Twitter post.
There seems to be a little bit of confusion between former UFC lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and Santiago Ponzinibbio but when it comes to fight negotiations it’s really nothing new.
On Friday evening dos Anjos tweeted to Ponzinibbio saying he’d already accepted the fight — despite Ponzinibbio saying the negotiations were waiting on dos Anjos.
“Ask someone who has two more neurons than you to explain that I’ve already accepted the fight your dirty arse,” dos Anjos wrote in Portugues (translated via google) in response to a Twitter GIF that Ponzinibbio posted of a chicken.
Dos Anjos went on to write, “You actually need to know an individual’s character, give her energy. There’s a fighter who makes the primary fundamental occasion of life and already begins to place the wings out and present his true character.”
Ponzinibbio instructed Combate in December that he’d combat dos Anjos wherever the previous champion happy.
“I’m ready for that diva, Rafael dos Anjos,” Ponzinibbio stated. “The diva calls the pictures. I’m simply ready on a affirmation from the diva. Let him decide the place. Similar to all my fights, it’ll be one other knockout. The diva stated he wouldn’t combat me as a result of it was in Argentina, he needed to combat me within the U.S., properly, simply inform me when and the place.”
Dos Anjos is on a two-two combat skid with back-to-back losses to Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman. Ponzinibbio is on a seven-fight win streak, along with his most up-to-date win coming after a fourth-round knockout of Neil Magny at UFC Argentina final Nov.
There was no combat card talked about however the UFC is rumored to be returning to Curitiba, Brazil for UFC 237 later this 12 months.
